OUR STORY

A dream turned reality!

Our story started from a dream we had of one day owning our own farm, being self sufficient and self sustainable. We wanted to live off the land, spend less money at the grocery store and overall produce a product we were happy with, that was healthy and most of all affordable.

After years of working towards this goal, my wife and I were able to make our dream a reality and established ourselves on our Homestead. Why did we choose HornE Acres as our name?

Our main focus is Scottish Highland cattle and these cows happen to have horns. The 'E' was my wife's idea and stands for 'everything else' that we happen to offer as well. We wanted to share our love and passion for homesteading to others in our community to show that it is completely capable with hard work and some sweat.

ABOUT THE PIEHLS

Joe and Celsie are the owners of HornE Acres Farm and also have an established dog breeding and boarding business on their farm site as well. Their love for animals has spread throughout the community and greatly shows as they offer to teach others their ways and lessons they have learned over the years together. They currently have 7 dogs, (six Labradors and one St. Bernard), 8 Scottish Highland Breeding Cows and Huey and Luey, their two red foxes.

The farm sits on roughly 12 acres of land, with honey bee's, pasture and apple orchard. They also have 80 acres of CREP land with 3 ponds that is home to abundant wildlife that they manage very closely and enjoy hunting and training on with their dogs.
